24th June 2008

Yes, this is the date when our family got new member - Samantha!
And this is the date we couldn't sleep well at night... due to her long lasting energy crying whole night...
This is the date Coco has new companion! Not sure whether is his sister or his wife... see how they mix along... hehe...
She is one month + now, exact date of birth still unknown now... will update soon...
Picture? Yes... update soon...

Samantha

Everybody says hello to Samantha! New member to our home.
She is Daschund/Rotweiler mix, but we are not sure how she gonna look like when she grow bigger. She is active, talkative and adoreable as what a 1.5 months old puppy would be.

How much?

"You have a nice dog there!"
"Oh thank you, his name is Coco."
"It's Hush Puppies right? How much?"
"It's from my friend...Coco let's go..."

Sounds like a normal conversation between either me or Fei with any other strangers who finds our Coco is adoreable (who doesn't?). The problem is, we are getting annoyed by "how much?", "where you buy it?", "Must be very expensive, right?"
Of course there is nothing wrong with those questions, but it's about when those questions were asked, and from whom. Let me put up an example:

"Hey you baby boy very cute lor!"
"Oh thank you, his name is Alex."
"How much you paid to get him?"
"Huh? Go away you freak! My baby is not for sale!"

I know the example above is kinda over, but it's close to how we felt. Initially I thought it's just me, but after talking with Fei, we just can't get used to that kinda questions from random strangers. We treat Coco as one of us, so I guess it's normal that we don't put a price tag on him, right?

I never asked the "How much?" question to random dog owners before we met Coco, but I think I would too if I get the chance. So I know it's totally normal to have the said conversation as many of us especially dog lovers are really interested to know the price or the place where the puppies were on sale.

The best place to get your questions answered could be the pet shops, or the dog breeders themselves. Or, if you knew us personally, we are glad to tell you the details too! Frankly, if you are a total stranger to us, my Coco will have the risk of being kidnapped after you find out it cost RM(insert random integer). Make sense right?

p/s: Yes, we bought Coco from a pet shop, and it's not as expensive as you think.
