Sabah trip~

We have to put Coco in some "pet's hotel" for 5 days, so that Fei and I can get away to an adventurous journey to Kota Kinabalu (better known as KK). Primary objective of this trip was to pay a visit to the highest mountain in Malaysia. Fei will have a separate post about our experience at the so-called "pet's hotel" soon. As for now, let the photos do the talking!
This was the morning/weekend market that we lepak before we go for out white water rafting.

On our way to Kiulu river. That's our first white water rafting experience. No picture taken after that as we are all tired and soaked wet.

Nice sunset at KK waterfront, where we had our dinner.

This was taken at the morning when we tried to figure out how to get to Kinabalu Park (where we should get ourself registered for the Mount KK climb. And finally, we found the 4WD teksi with only RM15 per person to KK park!

At Sutera Sanctuary Lodge. Fei was pointing at the peak. About to start our loooooooong journey.

At KM0 of Mesilau Trail. It's gonna take about 8KM to reach Laban Rata, where we rest of the night before we resume our hike to the peak.

KM1.5. Noticed the walking stick I'm holding? It's my life saver, my best friend through out the day.

猪笼草

Somehow Fei like this very much, took pictures everytime she spot one. :)

Our lunch box, we stop at KM4 and try to finish it just to reduce the weight of our bag. Talking about bags, we hired a guide and a potter (both of them are ladies). They helped us to carry our bags (combined 17kgs). While we are trying very hard each step with our light bags, puffing and panting, they walked like they are at level ground, it amazed me when i found out there are no other means of transportation to Laban Rata or the peak, everything has to be carried by potter, and i mean everything from rice, gas tanks, doors, cooking oil etc. Even the rubbishs/wastes produced on top have to be carried down by potters. And it's not an easy task i must say!

Mesilau trail indeed is prettier...

Me damn tired already, still a few meters away from our stop.

Fei at Donkey Ear Peak~ so freezeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and the sun already rose.

haha...when will you plan for your next trip to hike this East South highest peak again?
Absolutely agree with you with the phase of "life-saver". I've even seen a potter carried a big solid wooden door up to Raban Rata. So strong.i think bringing along coco there next time is a brilliant idea!

I am sure Coco wont be able to make it after half an hour hike, need to hire potter for him lagi charm!

Fei and I agree that this was "once-in-a-life-time" experience, meaning we will only do it once in our life time..hahah

Now even the staircase we also lazy to take already..hahahha

Wow you even hired a porter!! What did you have in your bag of 17 kg?

Good that at least you had the sun rise at the peak. It was cloudy when i was there!

Nice trip. I am sure some day later you will feel like doing it again, but maybe just in your mind...

17kgs it's the combined weight for 6 persons, mostly thick jackets and long pants prepared for the peak attack~
